So, what is ‘rebounding’?

Rebounding is a fun, low-impact form of cardiovascular exercise performed on a compact trampoline which has been specifically designed to absorb impact and provide a resilient, responsive bounce. We use the term ‘bounce’ delicately because rebounding is not at all like traditional trampolining and shouldn’t be confused with it. Trampolining is all about jumping high up in the air and for some, involves performing aerial tricks and moves. Rebounding on the other hand, is all about improving your overall fitness and health by performing a wide variety of controlled exercise movements on your rebounder, either in the comfort of your own home, or in a gym, health club or fitness class.

The purpose of rebounding is to use your bodyweight to push down on the rebounder bed using the balls of your feet, with the aim of creating distance between your body and the frame below you. By applying force to the bed against the resistance of the high-tensile springs, the body is quickly propelled into the air creating a unique gravitational pull that the body has to work hard against time and time again in quick succession. Rebounding can be done for anywhere between 5 minutes to 50 minutes and is a full-body workout which improves fitness, burns fat and strengthens the body’s core muscles, legs and upper body. Further health benefits include:

-          Increased lung capacity

-          Decreased blood pressure

-          Improved circulation

-          Strengthened heart

-          Promotes muscular growth and repair

-          Increased blood flow

-          Boosts metabolism

-          Reduced cholesterol

-          Improved coordination

-          Initiates the release of feel-good endorphins into the body promoting a sense of wellbeing

-          Improves the overall physical and mental wellbeing of the user

As well as all of the above, rebounding is also amazing because of its suitability for almost any gender, age, shape and size! It’s also extremely fun and a fantastic alternative to traditional forms of cardio exercise such as running or cycling, which can become very tedious after a while. Findings from studies by NASA state that “rebounding is the most efficient and effective form of exercise yet devised by man!” with rebounding found to be 68% more effective than treadmill jogging yet requiring less effort. After all, no one really wants to spend long, gruelling hours in gym when you can enjoy the same health benefits from just a short session rebounding. In modern society, very few people have the time to dedicate to regular gym sessions, whereas rebounding can be enjoyed from the comfort of your home in short but effective bursts.

The PT Bouncer was first introduced to the UK by Super Tramp in the very early 1980’s. Over the years, we have used our wealth of expertise to fine-tune our design, making the PT Bouncer the most-established and sought-after rebounder on the market. After a recent, brief hiatus from the market whilst we perfected and improved our design further, the PT Bouncer is now back and in its original, eye-catching aquamarine colour scheme. We have also introduced a new logo which we believe modernises the PT Bouncer and makes it more appealing to all generations. A support bar is available for your PT Bouncer, should you require additional support and stability whilst rebounding.
